Our History

The St Helens Camera Club was established in 1900 over Tea and Biscuits as it separated from the Sketching Club. We are an associate member of the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union which represents approx. 100 Photographic Societies.

The club meets every Monday night throughout the season, which runs from September to the end of April at:

Bishop Road Police Club

Windleshaw Road

St Helens

WA10 6SX.

Please note Access to the Club is via Windleshaw Road and not Bishop Road which some navigation units will take you to.

Our meetings commence 8pm and close at approximately 10pm

Whether you’re a long established photographer or a beginner the Club is a welcoming place to meet others and share everything photographic related regardless of ability.

Each season the club creates a programme (syllabus) which includes inspiring talks from professional photographers, practical nights, organised days out and monthly Competitions.

The current syllabus can be found on our website.

Please come along and enjoy a warm Welcome with Tea and Biscuits.

In 2024 we took the decision to join the social media platorm.

We chose Facebook and opened our club up to the social media world
