Its always one of the highlights of the year when we arrive at our Nature competition, and as usual it did not disappoint. Our Judge Terry Hewitt was treeated to some amazing shots and provided his insights and comments in a friendly and professional manor, for which we thank him.
Affinity Photo Tutorial an Edit along with your tutor Workshop
On Monday 18th of November 2024 we will be exploring how to edit your photos with Affinity Photo.
At the time of publishing this post Serif (the publishers of Affinity Photo are offering a six months free trial of the software for you to explore and edit your images.
One of our members as used the editor since its inception and has produced work, which has been internationally published, has been submitted to clients and is to be seen across magazines and artwork. We will be working together on a single image taking it from a RAW file to a fully processed Jpeg, You will have the opportunity to work alongside the tutor on your own laptop, you will then be able to retain the working .af file to take away with you and study how you created the images and hopefully produce your own version.

Competition number three for our 2024/2025 season
We welcome our Judge for the night Eddie Leach DPAGB who in his opening comments presents himself as a novice Judge, we can assure anyone that Mr Leach is anything but. He provided a lifetimes worth of constructive comments, advice and stories which proves once and for all that Eddie Leach is one of our most respected Judges. Thank you for a perfect nights Judging.
Our second Competition which is titled ‘Open with restrictions’ on our cometition night we welcomed back Judge Nick Hilton EFIP/b DPAGB BPE5*. Who as always produced a wonderful set of comments on our members entries. Thank you Judge Hilton.
Our opening competion 2024/2025 Season
Once again we are begining our seasons competitions. This year we are opening with our Open- no restrictions section. Our Judge for the night was Carol Watson DPAGB ABPE PPSA AFIAP her vast knowledge and comments really helped the members in there future submissions for competition.
Competition number six – Open no restrictions
And so we come to our last internal competition of the season. Without a doubt this year has provided us with some stunning images and exciting competitions. Our last of the season being no exeption. As we approach our closed season we would like to thank each and every member who contibuted to our competitions throughout this year.
Here is looking forward to next year and more amazing photographs . However a competition is not a competition without a Judge and as always our Judges are invaluable both for their attention to detail and their sage advice. Many, many thanks to each and everyone of them.
Our ‘Scapes Competition
As we are still in our Winter season its appropriate that we dedicate one of our competitions to the wonder of ‘Scapes, be they landscapes, city scapes or sky scapes, the season demands to be photographed in all its glory. We were Judged by the insightful Juge Martin Pickels who as always cast his expert eye over our entries. Many thanks Judge Pickles.
Heading into our final stretch of competitions we were Judged by the talented Jason Merrin, as always we are so grateful for comments and advice.
Our Popular Nature Competition
With our new competition structure in place for 2023/2024 we return to one of a select few themed competitions. Tonights competition is one of our most popular ones, Nature.
We were so happy to welcome Judge Nick Berentzon to cast an experienced eye over our images. Congratulations to everyone who entered as it was a very tough job to Judge such a high quality set of images.
